Cartoons definitely arenโt just for kids, but what every animation project brings is permission to play like a kid, and that can bring out the inner child in any voice actor!
Animation as an art form covers many genres from afterschool escapism to intense anime and resonates with audiences from preschool to adult. They can be inspiring, emotional, educational, and nostalgic and for voice actors, itโs a great showcase for unique storytelling and a workout for the imagination!
I also love that audiences are seeing more animated projects and characters that authentically represent their experiences and cultures and that recent pushes for more diversity are bringing even more opportunities for unique and exciting new storytelling to the forefront. Not only does that mean more opportunities for more actors and creators, but I believe that more diverse voices being added to existing shows, or leading their own new shows is what will ultimately lead to us finding the common threads that unite us.ย
Are you looking for the right voice actor for your animation project?
I specialize in realistic and relatable kid and teen voices (boy & girl characters), and over-the-top quirky characters, as well as playing supportive adult mentors, but I absolutely adore playing villains too!ย I have experience in animation prelay, dubbing, and educational-based content, but Iโm open to all genres of character work and Iโm committed to helping bring each role to life โ not just giving them a โcartoonyโ sound.
I know Animation is usually not a quick process and can take a lot of patience and flexibility, but it is so exciting to finally see how all the different elements and hard work come together in the end! Itโs truly magical.
Some of the fun shows that Iโm proud to be a part of include โHello Kitty Super Styleโ as the iconic and lovable Keroppi, โPetronix Defendersโ as their enthusiastic leader Matt, the English dub of โStreet Footballโ season 4 (aka โFoot2Rueโ) as the determined to win Little Dragon, โEmojitownโ as the ambitious Jaya, โCozmo & Friendsโ as the creative Codi Newton, and โCaillouโs New Adventuresโ as thoughtful Clementine and her Mom.
Another genre that I love for its imaginative and boundless storytelling is audio drama podcasts. Audiences can create their own visuals in their head while voice actors help add color to listenersโ imaginations with their character work.
Iโve enjoyed playing fun characters on many podcast series geared toward kid audiences (on platforms like Pinna) as well as other more grown-up projects that bring back the fun of radio plays from yesteryear. Podcasts can be just as engaging as a cartoon with the right cast and are much easier to listen to on the go whenever you want and wherever you want. If youโre looking for entertainment with less screen time but without losing out on fun or drama, finding the perfect podcast series or audio drama is now easier than ever!
Some great childrenโs podcasts Iโve had the honor to be a part of, often play multiple characters, include, โGrim, Grimmer, Grimmestโ, โQuentin & Alfieโs ABC Adventuresโ, โA to Z Mysteries: Clue Clubโ,ย โSeason Isleโ, โKyleโs Wild Worldโ, โDiscover the Forrestโ, โEscape the Marshmallow Dream Forestโ as Arlo (A Yes No Audio Original), and โFood Crimesโ as Katherine Flambรฉ. I love hearing feedback from kids who love a character I play or are fully engrossed in a series Iโm in! Thereโs no higher compliment than that!
